What and Why Functional Testing?
Conventional care is often a one-size-fits-all approach that is tailored toward the standard patient population rather than the individual. Functional testing provides clarity so that each patient can be viewed individually. Testing can reveal the underlying triggers of an individual’s health concerns. Test results permit us to modify treatments, protocols, and interventions that consider genetics, antibiotic resistance genes, virulence factors, unique microbiome, pathways that are under stress or under-functioning all within the individual. I individualize a program that gets you back on track to optimal health.
As a certified clinical nutritionist, I’m trained to access functional labs; DUTCH (hormones), GI Map (gut health), Metabolomics & Organic Acids Testing (metabolic pathways), Micronutrient Testing, Mold & Mycotoxin Testing, Nutreval as well as review conventional labs, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) and Comprehensive Blood Count (CBC).
Based on my assessment findings from a client’s test results, I create science-based interventions and protocols as necessary to address nutritional imbalances contributing to current state of health.
